Homestead Family Farms is a family-owned and operated grain farm located in central Kentucky -- right in the heart of bourbon country. While we are a growing farm operation, family and community remain the roots of our business. Farming is our passion and has been in the Reding family for six generations and the McCain family for five generations.
We grow corn, soybeans, and wheat. The majority of our corn is sold to various bourbon distilleries in the Bardstown, KY area. Our wheat and soybeans go to the export market on the Ohio River.
In 2010 Reding Family Farms changed our name to Homestead Family Farms to more accurately reflect our values and be more welcoming to those who have chosen to farm with us. In March 2011, Michael and Nora McCain of McCain Grain Farms joined our operation as owners and Managing Partners.
At Homestead Family Farms, we pride ourselves in the ability to change with advancing technology while remaining rooted in our history and values. We have chosen to become environmentally certified to ensure we are caring for the land in the best possible manner. We use the latest technology in order to conserve both natural and physical resources.
At Homestead Family Farms, it is our goal to be the choice -- not a choice -- for landowners in our area by continually exceeding landowner expectations. At the heart of our vision is securing a legacy for generations to come.
